Since I am suffering from a bit of writers block at the moment I will just let the photos do all the talking. I do have to take my proverbial hat off to Taryn and Pedey Kelly for organizing such a great event. There were some awesome cars that turned up, the vibe of the event was really relaxed, everyone was very well behaved and the weather was awesome. I highly enjoyed myself and I hope to see the NZPC Summer Tour back here in Tauranga again next year.
On Sunday 16th February 2014, I attended my first Downshift AUS – Sydney Meet. The weather was a little soggy in Sydney, but after fixing my fueling issues on the 180sx (CA-180) I was keen to have a drive and check out some cars PARKING HARD!
Initially I was going to meet up with the Silvia Republic boys but unfortunately I was a bit too late to catch up to their pre-meet. So with that being said I traveled to the meet at Fairfield Showground and met up with the boys there. Upon entering the showground’s outdoor carpark, I thought I was at the meet, to my surprise this was just the excess cars that could not fit under cover. Here is a couple shots from outside:

Round 3 of the Just Car Insurance Australian Drifting GP was on the 8th and the 9th of February. Temperatures were around the 36 degrees on the 9th, but this meant that the action was even hotter on the track! Congratulations to Levi Clarke who took home his first podium and first win in ADGP.
It was another early morning start heading down to Wakefield Park Raceway on the 27th Jan 2014. The team from Turbo-Spec.com attended the event, covering a variety of motor enthuasists who want to test their limits on the track with their street or track owned car. The noise of exhausts, engines and tyres screeching along with the smell of brakes & hot rubber; had any motor enthusiasts senses overloading. We always encourage every car enthusiast if you love to drive through the Touge, Drift, being one with your car to do it in a safe environment. We support Circuit Club because it is tailored to any individual who wants to improve their driving skills with a qualified driving instructor to professionals who want to test out their cars before their next event.

The introduction of facebook “groups” has brought on and encouraged a range of car related groups for all enthusiasts to congregate, discuss, chat and share their passions with one another. Michael Kim (MK) created the facebook group “Hills District” for anyone that is interested in cars around the Hills District in Sydney . I have been a member of the group for over a year now and enjoy the casual banter and local meet ups.
With local mini meets at the local Norwest Carwash and other meeting spots throughout the year it is great to be able to hang out with like minded enthusiasts. With this in mind Michael organised the Hills District Christmas Meet 2013 to end of the year with a good catchup and some awesome cars. Although the meet was intended initially for the Hills District Group members, as with alot of facebook organised and run events, people came from all over Sydney to join in the fun!

Zen Garage held a Boxing Day Meet & Sale they opened their doors on Boxing Day, 26th December 2013 from 12pm to 6pm. There was a free BBQ and they also ran a Forza Competition too. Our photographer Mitchell Hayes went along and took some photos for us!

Our Founder/photographer Josh Ong and Photographer Sean Maxwell, headed to another awesome Circuit Club day. It was a very hot day that ended up in a few sunburns and heat exhaustion but was still great to hang out and meet many track enthusiasts who want to see their true potential from the Street to the Track. There was a nice variety of cars, allowing us to see what each car is capable of performing on the track. Each car has been individually built to their preference, which is always nice to see them testing their Functional cars.

On Friday 6th of December 2013 On The Tune organised a Cruise in Remembrance of the Late Paul Walker and Roger Rodas who tragically passed away in an accident on November 30th 2013. I attended this event and it was great to see car enthusiasts all come together to raise some money for Reach Out World Wide (ROWW) and pay tribute to the men who passed away. The cruise started with a meeting point at Harry’s Cafe De Wheels in Parrmatta with cars rolling in from 7:00PM onwards.
At approximately 8:30PM everyone then made their way to the second meeting spot at Port Botany Boat Ramps off Foreshore Drive. All in all it was a great night and money was raised for Reach Out World Wide (ROWW) through the sale of stickers and donations.
Our good friend Tommy brought along his Evo 8 MR which is looking mighty fine with it’s rear diffuser! Read the rest of this entry →
Mount Hardpark went down a couple of weeks ago at Brewers Field on Newton Street. I decided to head over and check it out and see what was on display.
There was plenty on display to suit everyones tastes, including this classic Ford Thunderbird in immaculate condition, it’s always good to see classics like this that have been properly looked after.
There was also a few lowriders in attendance for people that were into that sort of thing, this example was in pristine condition with a really nice colour combination.
The NAC Drift Nationals is a great event and is one of the most open competition drifting events in New Zealand, with no separation between the Pro and Pro-Am class cars. The new Formula Drift qualifying format was also being run in New Zealand for the first time ever. I managed to secure my first media pass for this event (a massive thanks to Jason from Turbo-Spec.com for that) so that meant a 5am start to be at the gates by 8:20 AM, but it was well worth it. The event was great apart from the really long delays. One car lost it’s oil filter spewing oil all over the track and another ended up in the wall after the brakes locked up in the staging area while scrubbing the tires.
The day started off with open practice, Mad Mike was managing to pull off some awesome backwards entries throughout the morning and was looking on form. Unfortunately he had computer problems and could not qualify.
